Tolen Abdikov

Tolen Abdikov is a writer who knows how to penetrate into the very essence of the human soul and reveal complex issues of existence. His works are reflections on truth and lies, life and death, fate and freedom.

Born in 1942 in the Kostanay region. He began his literary career in the 1960s, when his first

the story “Raikhan” saw the light of day. Soon he became one of the leading writers of Kazakhstan, whose works speak to the reader in the language of truth.

In his collections “Horizon” (1969), “Autumn Leaves” (1971), “Truth” (1971) themes of moral choice, conscience and human relationships sound. His novel “Equinox” (1985) deeply reveals the tragedy of collectivization, showing the complexity and drama of those years.

In addition to artistic creativity, Abdikov actively participated in public life – worked in literary publications, headed departments in newspapers and almanacs, was an assistant to the President of Kazakhstan, was involved in domestic politics.

His talent was not limited only to prose— he also worked on translations. Thanks to him, ancient Greek myths became available in the Kazakh language in the book “Hellas Erleri” (1977).

Abdikov is a writer whose books make you think, rethink your life and look at the world in a new way. For his contribution to literature, he was awarded the title of People's Writer of Kazakhstan, and his works continue to inspire readers to search for truth.
