Nagima Eskalieva – a legend of the Kazakh stage

Nagima Khabdulovna Eskalieva (born February 3 1954 ) – Soviet and Kazakh pop singer singer, film actress, TV presenter, People's Artist of Kazakhstan (1999), Honored Artist of the Kazakh SSR (1985).

Born into a large family, I was interested in the stage since childhood. Graduated from the Republican Studio of Variety and Circus Arts (class of Lucky Kesoglu) and the Tchaikovsky Music College. In 1977 she began her career in "Kazakhconcert", and then became a soloist of the ensemble "Gulder".

In 1985  joined the ensemble "Medeu".

The owner of a powerful and expressive voice, Eskalieva performs Kazakh folk, Soviet and modern pop songs. Toured in Czechoslovakia, Mongolia, Algeria, Cuba, GDR and Denmark.

She was a member of the jury of vocal shows SuperStar KZ and X Factor Kazakhstan (eight seasons). She made a significant contribution to the development of the Kazakh pop scene and the education of a new generation of performers.
