Once upon a time, there lived Ernazar. He had eight sons and a large farm. But one day, a difficult harvest occurred. In search of pasture, the brothers led their herds far from the village and did not return for a long time.
Some time later, another son, Tostik, was born into Ernazar's household. The boy grew unusually quickly and was distinguished by his strength and courage. Upon learning that he had eight missing brothers, he determined to find them.
Tostik set out on a long journey and, after a long search, managed to bring his brothers home.
Later, he married the wise Kenzhekey. Kenzhekey was distinguished by her foresight and planned her husband's future in advance. Among his dowry, she selected for him a set of powerful equipment and an unusual horse, Shalkuyryk, who later became Tostik's faithful companion.
But soon, the hero faced his greatest challenge.
Due to the machinations of the Zhalmauyz Kempir, Tostik found himself in the underworld. There he met amazing people: Zhelayak, who could run faster than the wind, the incredibly strong Tausogar, and Koltausar, who could drink enormous amounts of water.
Each of them became his comrade. Thanks to their abilities, Tostik overcame challenges that one person alone could not.
One day, he saw a huge tree where the nest of the Samruk bird was located. A monster was approaching the chicks. Tostik saved them, and the grateful Samruk later helped him escape from the underworld.
But the adventures did not end there. The hero had to face Shoyynkulak, whose life was hidden separately from his body. It was impossible to defeat such an enemy by force. Tostik managed to learn his secret and only then defeated the enemy.
After many wanderings, he finally returned home to Kenzhekey.
The tale of Er-Tostik shows that a true hero needs more than just strength and courage. No less important are true friends, the ability to repay kindness with kindness, and not give up even when the road seems endless.
