Gulzhan Usambekovna Tutkibaeva – outstanding Kazakh prima ballerina, choreographer, choreographer, ballet dancer and teacher. Born on March 12, 1964 in Alma-Ata.
In 1974, she entered the Moscow State Academy of Choreography, which she graduated in 1982 with honors, having received the qualification "Artist" ballet. soloist(prima ballerina) of the ballet troupe of the Kazakh State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Abai. During this period, she performed leading roles in classical and modern productions, winning recognition from audiences and critics.
In 1996–2000, she graduated from the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after T. Zhurgenov with a degree in Directing.
After completing her stage career, she took up teaching and production work. From 2001 to 2021 year Department of "Directing Choreography" of the Faculty of Choreography of the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after T. Zhurgenov. [&:not(:first-child)]:mt-6" dir="ltr" style="text-align: start;">artistic director of the ballet of the Kazakh State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Abay, a in 2009–2012 his choreographer-producer. Since 2012 he is the artistic director of the ballet of the Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theater named after Abai and its chief choreographer. In 2021–2022 she taught classical dance at the Almaty Choreographic School named after A. Seleznev.
People's Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan (1996), laureate of the State Prize "Daryn" (1992), holder of the Order "Kurmet" (2009), professor of the Kazakh National Academy of Arts T. Zhurgenova (2010).
Gulzhan Tutkibaeva made a huge contribution to the development of Kazakhstan ballet, education of a new generation artists and popularization of classical art in Kazakhstan.
