Zhambyl region is the region, located in the South part of the Republic of Kazakhstan. A region has the second largest population in the country. In the Western part of Zhambyl region, there are Aikene sands, with an area of 3,200 km2. A region is famous for its nature, extensive flora and fauna. Zhambyl region has a huge ecological potential, with various species of plants and animals, living in nature reserves and national parks. The region is also known for its natural deposits. Major cities: Taraz, Karatau, Zhanatas and Shu.
