Kostanay region is one of the largest regions of Kazakhstan and it is located in the North part of the country. It borders with five regions of the country: Aktobe, Ulytau, Karagandy, Akmola and North Kazakhstan. It also borders with three regions of the Russian Federation. The region is rich in forest resources and ore deposits. The main river of the region is the Tobol. Moreover, there are large cities in the region: Kostanay, Arkalyk, Lisakovsk, Tobol and Rudnyi.
