As part of this event, a ceremony was held to transfer books to the Portuguese literature corner, organized jointly with the Portuguese Embassy in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The purpose of the event was to increase interest in learning foreign languages and foreign literature, as well as popularize reading among library visitors. On this day, the Embassy of the Portuguese Republic, through the Instituto Diplomatico, solemnly handed over new books in Kazakh, Russian and Portuguese to the Portuguese literature corner. These publications reflect the culture, history, traditions and modern development of Portuguese-speaking countries. The collection has been replenished with 30 new copies, including historical, popular science, biographical books and children's literature provided by the Portuguese Parliament.

Portuguese is one of the five most widely spoken languages in the world. We sincerely hope that the works of such authors as Camoens, Vinicius de Moraes, Mia Couto, Luis Cardoso, Jose Luandino Vieira, Onjaki and Paulina Chisiana will please readers," said Jose Ataide Amaral, Charge d'affaires of the Portuguese Embassy.
