The National Museum will exhibit a painting by Leonardo da Vinci.
Kazakhstanis will be presented with Leonardo da Vinci's rare work La Bella Principessa — "Portrait of a young Bride". Previously, the painting was exhibited only five times around the world, each time attracting great interest from critics and the public. The exhibition will be held in Astana from June 7 to August 4, 2024.

One of the most mysterious and valuable masterpieces of Leonardo da Vinci is La Bella Principessa, a drawing from the Warsaw Codex of the Sforziad, recognized by the profile of Bianca Giovanna Sforza, daughter of Ludovico il Moro and wife of Galeazzo Sanseverino, which is the only work of the master on parchment (in red, black and white chalk).

"La Bella Principessa is a portrait of a young girl belonging to the Italian aristocracy, made by Leonardo da Vinci at the end of the XV century. The work that disappeared and then was found again is one of the most mysterious and fascinating creations of the master," the diplomatic mission noted.

The painting is recognized by experts as a real masterpiece. Although more recently, in the XX century, the work of the great Italian caused a lot of controversy about who its author was, but later, in the 2000s, scientists still proved its authenticity. The opportunity to enjoy a real masterpiece of art was provided by the Italian Embassy in Astana, the Italian Institute of Culture and the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan."The promotion of culture is a powerful engine of dialogue between Italy and Kazakhstan. Leonardo is the epitome of renaissance man, an ever—relevant icon of talent, genius and creativity. The exhibition of one of his masterpieces in Astana is a unique opportunity to strengthen cooperation between our countries," Ambassador Marco Alberti said.

The organizers invite all residents and guests of the capital to visit the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan to personally appreciate the splendor of one of the rarest works of Leonardo da Vinci.
