Opera "Birzhan – Sarah" by M.Tulebaev

- We are proud of the opportunity to hold Operalia on the stage of our theater for the second year. It is known that this wonderful festival is more than two decades old. Every year it raises the prestige of our theatrical art and enriches the cultural life of the country. There is no doubt that Operalia 2024 will present world-class performances. So, at the opening, Italian singers, along with Kazakhstani artists, will present their art to residents and guests of the capital: soprano Desiree Rancatore, baritone Alberto Gazale, tenor Giulio Pelligra, conductor and author of the program Giuseppe Acquaviva," noted Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Director of Astana Opera Galym Akhmedyarov.

At the opening ceremony of the festival, a theatrical show will be held in the lobby with the performance of opera numbers, a demonstration of costumes and an exhibition of props from the performances included in the Operalia program.

The best examples of opera and ballet art will be presented during the festival. Among them are bright operas, each of which deserves special attention: M.Tulebayev's "Birzhan – Sara" is a classic work by the Kazakh composer, which will open the doors to the rich world of national opera. The famous opera Turandot by J. Puccini will be shown with the participation of invited soloists: Georgian tenor Georgy Oniani, Ukrainian soprano Oksana Kramareva, Czech soprano Libushe Santorisova will take the stage on different days of the performances.

Donizetti's "Love Potion" – the screening of this comic opera will add lightness and romantic mood to the festival. Tchaikovsky's "Eugene Onegin" will also be held with guest soloists – Eleonora Makarova and Evgeny Kachurovsky from Russia, as well as Shokhrukh Yunusov from Tajikistan. The skill of the singers will allow listeners to rediscover the masterpiece of world opera.

Ballet lovers will enjoy exclusive performances. So, for the 100th anniversary of choreographer Roland Petit, two of his famous ballets will be shown: Notre Dame de Paris by M. Jarre - this production will tell the tragic story of Quasimodo's love for Esmeralda. And "Coppelia" by L.Delibes is a light and cheerful ballet about a doll that has come to life.

No less interesting will be the concert programs planned both in the Great Hall and in the Chamber Hall named after K.Baiseitova. Among them: the concert of national music "Darkhan Dala" is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the traditions and culture of Kazakhstan. For the first time, the Academic Orchestra named after him will perform a full concert program on the stage of the Astana Opera. Tattimbeta with the chorus and soloists of the opera of the capital theater. "Gala Opera" with the participation of Italian stars and "Gala Ballet", where soloists from Russia and China were invited: These are Elena Vorobyova and Alexey Seliverstov, as well as Zhang Haidong, Zhang Yuyi and Sun Huixin. The Chamber Hall will host seven concerts, many of which will be decorated with performances by foreign artists – Inaki Alberdi (accordion, Spain), Ketevan Abiatari (soprano, Italy / Georgia), Elizaveta Alexandrova (harp, St. Petersburg). Separately, I would like to mention the concert of Meruert Karmenova (Belgium / Kazakhstan), winner of the prestigious XVI International Violin Competition. Henryk Venyavsky and concerts of laureates of the Astana Piano Passion International Competition Alexander Kutuzov and Bekzat Rakymov (Almaty / Moscow).

The grand finale promises to be, emphasizing the artistic diversity of the festival, a unique premiere – a concert performance of the opera "The Free Shooter" by K.M. von Weber.
