Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the importance of this aspect in his speech at the third meeting of the National Kurultai in March 2024. “First of all, we must instill in young people a love of reading. This is the only way we will become a reading nation. The most significant steps to the progress of our nation are books. Therefore, we must consistently establish a high culture of reading in society”.

The major publishing houses of Kazakhstan took part in the exhibition. An event included the presentations of new books, meetings with the authors, autograph sessions and workshops for the children. 

Thus, a creative meeting of visitors for the exhibition was organized with Kazakh writer, laureate of the State Prize of Kazakhstan, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Alibek Askarov; as well as the famous writer, ethnographer Bolat Bopaiulywith the presentation of the book “Qazaq qazynasy”. 

Among the foreign guests is the popular Russian writer Guzel Yakhina. Guzel presents a translation into Kazakh language of the “Zuleikha Opens Her Eyes” and “Train to Samarkand” novels.

During the days of the exhibition fair, visitors have an opportunity to meet with the authors of books.
