“This important step is aimed at expanding cultural ties between the two countries and strengthening the сinema industry”, reported the press service of the Kazakh Ministry of Culture and Information.

The parties agreed to cooperate in the distribution of film products in the partner’s territory.

“The distribution of film products abroad plays an important role in promoting cultural diversity. We appreciate the cooperation with the National Centre for Cinema and the Moving Image of France, and look forward to sharing expert knowledges as well as supporting the promotion of film products”, noted the Chairman of the State Center for Support of National Cinema of Kazakhstan, Kurmanbek Zhumagali. 

The National Centre for Cinema and the Moving Image of France is ready to assist in popularization of the Kazakh films in France and dubbing the French films into Kazakh.

The National Centre of Cinema of France (Centre National de la Cinématographie - CNC) is a public institution, subordinate to the French Ministry of Culture and Communication. The CNC performs the following functions: develops the legislative and regulatory texts; issues authorizations for investments in the production, rental and sale of videos; manages the film support funds (11% of fees in cinemas) that provide financial assistance in the production or distribution and guarantee returns; supports the cinema sector; archives management; research and statistics.
