The Art of Traditions was presented by artists from Italy, Austria and Kazakhstan
The unique international project "The Art of Traditions" was presented at the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The exhibition includes several areas of contemporary art at once: video art, art installation, photography and art performance. Viewers can see the works of Italian photographer Gabriele Galimberti, Austrian artist Norbert Brunner and the Kazakh creative group "Adyr Aspan".

Visitors to the exhibition are greeted by art installations by the Austrian author Norbert Brunner: "Time Pill" ("Time Capsule") and "Juice Local Act Infinite" ("National Cuisine - Eternal Traditions"). The artist presented a conceptual embodiment of the theme of national traditions and feasts, viewed through the prism of a given period of time. The author wished to enter into a dialogue with the viewer, offering a philosophical approach to thinking about art, time, space and traditions. Norbert Brunner was born in Hohenems, Austria. He currently lives and works in Vienna. His works are in private collections in the USA, Austria and Germany. The author's solo exhibitions took place in the USA, Austria, Switzerland, Russia, China and other countries.

"I am very glad that I am taking part in this project. I was lucky enough to work with local artists and together with them create what can be called a dialogue of cultures. I am always interested in discovering new countries. And, of course, Kazakhstan is a country with a nomadic past, with a rich ancient culture that amazes the imagination. I really want to explore your steppes more deeply, immerse myself in this atmosphere in order to reflect it in art," said Norbert Brunner.

Visitors are drawn into the depths of the exhibition by the works of Italian photographer Gabriele Galimberti. To implement the photo project "In her Kitchen", the author crossed the borders of twenty-five countries. The photographer invites the viewer to immerse themselves in the gastronomic traditions of different nations. The heroines of his works share the secrets of national dishes.

At the exhibition, the author presented a series of photographs created in Kazakhstan.

Gabriele Galimberti was born in the Italian region of Tuscany, in the city of Rigutino. The author made his first works as a student. Today, Gabriele Galimberti's photographs have been published in the most prestigious publishing houses in the world, including: National Geographic, The Sunday Times, Stern, Geo, Le Monde, La Repubblica, Marie Claire. The author is the winner of the World Press Photo Award, James Beard Foundation Award, Premio Amilcare G. Ponchielli, APP Prize and many others. Gabriele is an official photographer for National Geographic and an official representative of the Canon brand.

"The concept of creating a dialogue between European and Kazakh artists has emerged. I think this is a project that creates a dialogue not only between the artists and creative figures involved, but also a dialogue between different areas of art," said Olga Daniele, curator of the exhibition.

The conceptual art performance "AQ Dala" was presented to the public by the Kazakh creative team ADYR-ASPAN. He invites the viewer to enjoy a dance performed in the snowy Saryarka steppe. Dressed all in white, the dancers convey with their movements the traditional motifs of the land on which they grew up. Video art, filming and editing of the exhibition project material were implemented by talented cameraman Almas Maksut.

The exhibition at the National Museum (Astana) will last until June 30, 2024.
