About the “Jana Qazaqstan” program
The “Jana Qazaqstan” program is an important strategic document, developed by the Government of Kazakhstan to promote socio-economic development of the country and achieve a sustainable economic growth.
It bears to remind that the “Jana Qazaqstan” program was presented back in March 2022. The plan has been developed and includes the five goals, as well as numerous measures to achieve them.
The first goal of the “Jana Qazaqstan” program is to improve a system of the rule of law and development of democratic institutions in the country. Kazakhstan strives to create an open society in which the civil liberties and rights are recognized and protected as well. In 2023, a Constitutional Court was established in the country, where the citizens can apply if they believe that a particular law does not comply with the Constitution of Kazakhstan.
The second goal of the program is the modernization of Kazakhstan’s economy. A state strives to develop the competitive industries and stimulate investment. For this purpose, the state-owned enterprises are being privatized, innovative technologies are being introduced, and the small and medium-sized businesses are being developed too. So, from January 1, 2023, the minimum wage was increased from 60,000 to 75,000 tenge. Due to this, the cash incomes of about 1.8 million employees were increased, and more than 632,000 parents received the payments in the amount of over 258 billion tenge.
Improving the quality of the population’s life is the third goal of the program. The state attaches a particular importance to such spheres as education, healthcare, housing and social protection. In 2023, a guaranteed social package for the children aged 1 to 6 years from the recipients of targeted social assistance (TSA) was monetized, and it was previously issued in the commercial form. Also, for achieving this goal, the reforms are being carried out in the field of education to make it of high quality and more accessible.
In 2023, 45 new schools equipped with modern technologies were built and opened as part of the “Jana Qazaqstan” program. The psychological support centers have been established in Akmola, Kostanai, Aktobe, Pavlodar, Karagandy, West Kazakhstan regions, as well as Astana and Almaty cities.
The fourth goal of the “Jana Qazaqstan” program is the development of science and technology. Kazakhstan strives to become an innovative state through the development of modern technologies and scientific research. The reforms are being carried out in the field of science and higher education in order to create the conditions for the development of scientific research. More than 9,000 grants (up to 400 MCI) were issued to the entrepreneurs in 2023.
The fifth goal of the program is strengthening a national statehood. The country strives for the interethnic harmony, formation of civic identity and strengthening of statehood. The measures are being taken to preserve the cultural heritage and traditions of the Kazakh people. Moreover, the multinational education is being supported and intercultural dialogue has been developing as well. As part of the programme, the Concept of State Youth Policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023-2029 was adopted, which should facilitate the participation of young people in socially significant issues.
The “Jana Qazaqstan” program is an important strategy for Kazakhstan, which helps the country to achieve sustainable development and improve the quality of life of its citizens. Thanks to this program, Kazakhstan is becoming a strong and prosperous country that occupies a worthy place in the international arena.
