The history of creation.In 2021, a multifunctional educational complex was built, equipped with the latest modern technologies that have no analogues in the country, and put into operation in the Turkestan regional universal scientific library "Farab". The library is a gift from the city of Shymkent in honor of receiving the status of the regional center of Turkestan.

The total book stock is 219642, including 84333 in Kazakh. 

Unique editions of the library-19th century. The oldest of the books, "Divani Hikmet" by K. A. Yasavi, is a sample copy of the "Book of Wisdom".

Rare stock books, handwritten heritage

Sharia laws written in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, the book of faith of Imam Orgsam Abu Hanifa, the Koran, Islamic creeds, the History of the Prophets, problems of Fiqh, hadith, words and history of Hikmet, Linguistics, grammar of the study of the Arabic language, areas of logic. Among them: books in Oriental languages: Arabic, Persian, and Turkic.

Russian Russian and Kazakh classics in cursive writing, the works of Russian and foreign researchers, published in the period from 1912 to 1929;

Documents of the branch of agriculture, demography, animal husbandry, etc. In the Syrdarya, Zhetysu, Turkestan, Akmola regions, since 1890.
