DIMASH KUDAIBERGEN

Dimash (Dinmukhamed) Kudaibergen is a talented, popular Kazakh world–class performer and composer. Since 2019, the singer has been an Honored Worker of Kazakhstan.

He was born in 1994 in Aktobe at the family of professional vocalists, Honored Workers of Kazakhstan: a poet, composer, singer and producer Kanat Aitbayev. At present, he is the head of the “Dimash Ali” Creative center. His mother, Svetlana Aitbayeva, is a soloist of the Aktobe Regional Philharmonic named after G.Zhubanova, a deputy of the Aktobe regional maslikhat. Dimash's older parents, as he calls them himself, grandmother Miua Nizamutdinova and grandfather Kudaibergen Aitbayev played a big role in the boy's upbringing, his development as a person, and contributed to the child's early immersion in the world of musical culture.

Despite being very busy musically, Dimash has been involved in sports since childhood: he played football, mastered taekwondo and made a serious progress in swimming. Dimash’s parents have always stressed the importance of deep knowledge of the Kazakh language and mastery of traditional musical instruments. Dimash’s sister Raushan and his brother Abilmansur are also involved in music: Raushan sings wonderfully, and Mansur plays the dombyra.

Dimash’s first appearance on the stage as a performer occurred at the age of two in a small role at the local theatrical production.

At the age of five, Dimash began taking the piano and vocal lessons at the children's studio of the Aktobe Music College named after A. Zhubanov. Even then, the teachers and parents noticed that the boy had an absolute hearing.

At the age of six, in 2000, he won the National Children’s competition "Ainalayyn" in the nomination "Piano". In 2010, Dimash entered the Aktobe Music College named after A. Zhubanov to study in the "Opera singing" specialty.

From 2010 to 2013, Dimash won the four major competitions: "Ringing Voices of Baikonur", "Zhas Kanat" in Kazakhstan, "Oriental Bazaar" in Ukraine and "Making Asia" in Kyrgyzstan. During the same period, Dimash wrote music for his two future hits "Korkemim" based on his father's poems, and "Umytylmas kun" based on Oral Baisengir's poems, and recorded the three music videos – two versions of "Korkemim" (2013, 2014) and "Daididau" (2014). In 2014, Dimash graduated from college and began his studies at the Kazakh National University of Arts with a degree in Pop Art.

Since childhood, Dimash dreamed of winning the “Slavic Bazaar” International Pop Song Contest, held annually in Vitebsk city, Belarus. In 2015, his dream came true. He won the Grand Prix of this largest competition, scoring 175 points out of 180 possible. His unique voice and vocal range, demonstrated in the original performance of the Kazakh folk song "Daididau", the Russian song "Blizzard Again" and the French "S.O.S d'un terrien en detresse", were noted by the jury and made a great impression for the audience.

In 2015, as an outstanding vocal performer, Dimash was nominated to represent Kazakhstan at the ABU TV Song International Song Festival in Istanbul, Turkey. On January 1, 2016, Dimash released his self-titled debut mini-album, as well as the music video for the song "Ayaz Kyrau" – the Kazakh version of the Russian song "Snowstorm Again". On January 22, 2016, at the People’s Favorite Awards ceremony in Kazakhstan, he received the Pop Artist Award.

From April to December 2016, Dimash conducted his first concert tour of 25 concerts in the 25 regions of Kazakhstan in honor of the 25th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s independence, and also, gave two concerts in Ufa and Kazan cities, Russia. He named his tour "Umytylmas kun" / "Unforgettable Day" in honor of his own song of the same name.

At the end of 2016, Dimash received an invitation to participate in the fifth season of the vocal competition "I am a Singer", which was broadcast by “Hunan” TV channel, “China weekly” from January 21 to April 22, 2017. Being the youngest participant in the history of the show, at the age of 22, he competed with professional and most sought-after Chinese singers, participating in the competition as a “dark horse”. In the competition, he reached the final, taking the second place. His performances in the project reached the top of the "Fresh Asia Music" chart, including the single "Umytylmas kun".

On March 27, 2017, Dimash won the nomination “The Most Popular Singer in Asia” at the Chinese music award ERC Chinese Top Ten Awards in Shanghai, China, considered the equivalent of the American Grammy Awards.

On April 5, 2017, Dimash released his first Chinese single “Eternal Memories”, a song for the “Battle of Memories” movie. The song reached the top of the QQ iTunes chart immediately on the day of release.

A landmark event in Dimash’s life was his solo concert “Bastau” in 2017, which was attended by 25,000 spectators. The show has been lasted for 4 hours, and 30 songs were performed in Kazakh, Russian, English, French and Chinese languages.

In March 2019, Dimash Kudaibergen held his first D-Dynasty solo concert in Moscow at the Kremlin Palace. The tickets were sold out long before the start of the event, so he decided to repeat it the next day.

In June, Dimash performed a solo concert “Arnau” at the Astana Arena stadium in Astana. The concert gathered about 10,000 spectators. A part of the proceeds was transferred to the fund for assistance to the Arys residents.

In December, the singer gave a solo concert on the stage of the Barclays Center in New York, which accommodates about 19,000 people. According to experts, the fees could amount to about 320 million tenge.

Moreover, Dimash Kudaibergen gave a solo concert in London, which was attended by about 4,600 people from 45 countries. The show took place in the “Indigo” concert hall of the world famous arena and was timed to coincide with the Day of Kazakh Culture in the UK. The approximate fees amounted to 150 million tenge and were aimed at supporting the Kazakh young talents to participate in prestigious international competitions and concerts.

Dimash Kudaibergen’s concerts were also held in the Czech Republic, Germany, Turkey, Armenia, Malaysia and other countries as part of the “D-Dynasty”, “Arnau” and “Stranger” world tours.

Dimash Kudaibergen is known for his wide vocal range, covering 6 octaves, 8 semitones. His range extends from the bass register to the highest notes of the coloratura soprano and the whistle register. The musical style is pop music with the inclusion of elements of opera and Kazakh folk music. Michael Jackson, Yermek Serkebayev, Celine Dion, Lara Fabian and Luciano Pavarotti influenced the formation of his work.
