The Astana Ballet Theatre hosted the first Symphony Time symphonic music festival, featuring three concerts featuring Kazakhstani performers.
Accompanied by the Astana Ballet Orchestra, violinist Yerzhan Kulibayev and pianists Alim Beissembayev and Amir Tebenikhin performed.
The festival program included works by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Dmitri Shostakovich, Sergei Prokofiev, and Sergei Rachmaninoff. These included Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto, Piano Concerto No. 1, and Symphony No. 5, Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5, Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 3, and Rachmaninoff's Symphonic Dances.
The theatre's symphony orchestra was founded in 2021 and comprises 80 musicians. The ensemble is consistently expanding its repertoire and participating in ballet productions and the theater's concert programs.
"For us, Symphony Time is an opportunity to present the Astana Ballet Orchestra in an independent symphonic format. The festival brings together the orchestra and outstanding Kazakhstani soloists, creating a space for the ensemble's development," noted Arman Urazgaliyev, Principal Conductor of the Astana Ballet Theater Orchestra.
The Symphony Time festival marks a new stage in the development of the theater's concert activities, giving the orchestra the opportunity to present its own program of symphonic music.
