By decree of the President, the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan received the status of "national"

Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a decree granting the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan the status of "national."
The President places particular emphasis on preserving historical memory, studying cultural heritage, and promoting national values. This new status confirms the special role of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan as the largest museum in Central Asia and one of the country's leading cultural and educational centers.
Today, the National Museum's collection contains over 200,000 exhibits. It comprises 20 exhibition halls, restoration workshops, laboratories, storage facilities, a research library, and spaces for educational and exhibition projects.
The National Museum welcomes over 600,000 visitors annually. Over 400 specialists work at the institution, including researchers, restorers, tour guides, and curators.
The National Museum is actively involved in exhibition, research, and educational activities. Every year, the institution implements more than 100 international exhibitions and projects, expanding Kazakhstan's cultural dialogue with foreign museums and research centers.
