The exhibition "Kazakh Artist of Kazakhstan: The History of Kazakhs" opened at the National Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, commemorating the 100th anniversary of People's Artist of Kazakhstan Sakha Romanov and the 90th anniversary of Honored Artist of Kazakhstan Tursyn Abuov.

A congratulatory address from Aida Balayeva, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was read at the opening ceremony.

"The work of two outstanding artists, who made an invaluable contribution to the development of national fine art, is deeply rooted in the spiritual heritage of our people, its history, and traditions. This exhibition offers viewers the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the creative world of these two masters. The fact that many of the works on display have rarely been previously displayed to the general public adds particular significance," the congratulatory address noted.

The exhibition opening was attended by Sakhi Romanov's daughter, Aizhan Saduakassova, Tursyn Abuov's wife, Guliya Sandybaeva, as well as his daughter and grandchildren.

The exhibition is structured as a dialogue between two creative worlds. It brings together paintings, graphic works, and objects from the artists' personal collections, all held in the museum's collections. Sakhi Romanov's creative legacy is represented by paintings, graphic works, and works related to Russian cinema. Tursyn Abuov's works reflect his multifaceted work in painting, sculpture, and landscape design.

The exhibition "Kazakh Artists of the Kazakh SSR" will run until August 15, 2026.
