The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan has approved an Action Plan for the promotion and popularization of the legacy of Khoja Akhmet Yassaui for 2026–2028. The corresponding resolution was signed by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov.
The document provides for 37 measures aimed at studying, preserving, and promoting the legacy of the great thinker, as well as developing Turkestan as one of the key centers of spiritual tourism.
The plan covers five areas: improving the institutional and legal framework, research and educational work, cultural and educational and creative projects, information and image-building and international events, as well as restoration work.
Particular attention is paid to working with youth and schoolchildren. A significant part of the events will take place in Turkestan. In particular, it is planned to hold the republican stage of the traditional "Yassaui Studies" competition among schoolchildren in the city, and to open a "Yassaui Studies" club for students at the museum.
A significant part of the work is related to the publication of works by Khoja Akhmet Yassaui and scientific papers, the identification of the great thinker's legacy in domestic and foreign scientific centers and archives, as well as the development of a catalog of archival materials and documents.
For wider promotion of Yassaui's legacy, it is planned to update information for tourists, including guidebooks, videos, and audio guides, develop new tourist routes adapted for foreign tourists, carry out scientific and restoration work in the mausoleum, and more.
The plan also provides for the promotion of Yassaui's found and researched written heritage within the framework of UNESCO's "Memory of the World" program, as well as working on the issue of declaring the Year of Yassaui or special cultural days within UNESCO and ISESCO.
The implementation of the plan will expand efforts to preserve and study the legacy of Khoja Akhmet Yassaui, enhance its promotion in the country and abroad, and unlock the potential of Turkestan as an important spiritual, cultural, and tourist center.
