Gabit Musrepov Theater opened its 81st season with new productions

The Gabit Musrepov Kazakh State Academic Theater for Children and Youth has opened its 81st theater season. The new season offers audiences premieres, festive events dedicated to the theater's 80th anniversary, and international and national festivals.

In the opening days of the season, "The Return of Karlsson," based on the work by Astrid Lindgren, and the new production "Aqbilek. Dream" will be staged.

On September 12, the premiere of the drama "As If the Eye of the Heart Has Awakened" will take place on the Zhanat Khadzhiyev Experimental Stage.

A series of events has also been planned to mark the theater's 80th anniversary. On September 17, Almaty will host the international scientific and practical conference "Secrets of the 80-Year Stage: Spirit, Art, Search," featuring domestic and foreign theater critics. That same day, a festive evening will be organized at Kok Tobe for city residents and guests.

During the new season, the theater company will also participate in international and national festivals. At the 20th international theater festival "Butrint Festival" in Albania, the troupe will stage the play "The House of Bernarda Alba." Meanwhile, they will participate in the International Pacific Theater Festival in Russia with the production "Qaragoz."

Additionally, the play "Ulpan" has been included in the program of the "THEATER ALL" international theater festival in Astana and the "Criticism Be Truth" national festival in Karaganda.

By the end of the year, the theater plans to stage "Aldar Kose" and "Romeo and Juliet." In 2027, productions of "Qyz Zhibek," "Ayman-Sholpan," and "The Day Lasts More Than a Hundred Years" will be presented to audiences.
