
On March 20, the National Operetta and Musical Theater "Ion Dacian" in Bucharest will host a gala concert by the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography, "When the Steppe Awakens: Nauryz in Dance," dedicated to the celebration of Nauryz.
The concert program will feature classical, national, and contemporary choreographic pieces performed by talented representatives of the young generation of future Kazakh artists. The program includes excerpts from famous ballets, including Riccardo Drigo's "Romance of the Rosebud and the Butterfly" with choreography by Vasily Medvedev, Ludwig Minkus's "Paquita," Pyotr Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker," Hermann Löwenskold's "La Sylphide," as well as the national numbers "Aqbayan" and "Zholbarys Zhurek" with choreography by Anvara Sadykova and Almat Shamshiev, set to folk music and a modern arrangement by the folklore and ethnographic ensemble "Khassak."
In addition, the audience will be treated to the Kazakh classic "Dreams of Love," choreographed by Bulat Ayukhanov and music by Franz Liszt, and the contemporary number "Inside" with music by Johann Sebastian Bach, choreographed by Kato Nakao. The special guest of the concert program will be international competition laureate and soprano Laura Ali, who will perform works from the classical and national repertoire.
