The Republic of Kazakhstan State Academic Dance Theater named after Bulat Ayukhanov opened its 60th theater season with the gala concert «Ayukhanov. Heritage. Nasledie» (Mura).

This season holds special significance for the theater company. In 2026, the theater was officially named after its founder, the prominent choreographer Bulat Ayukhanov, marking the first time the company has begun a new season bearing the maestro's name.

The gala concert program featured productions from various years that showcase the multifaceted creativity of Bulat Ayukhanov. Spectators enjoyed golden-fund pieces of domestic choreography such as «Eternal Motion», «The Artist and the Swan», «Dreams of Love», «Aizhan Kyz», and «Dance with Durburas», along with excerpts from the ballets «The White Cloud of Genghis Khan» and «Tatiana Larina». The evening concluded with Maurice Ravel's famous «Bolero».

The theater company is focused on reviving the works staged by Bulat Ayukhanov and passing them on to future generations. Veterans of the company who once worked alongside the choreographer are actively participating in this effort, helping to preserve the original essence of the productions.

One such piece is «Eternal Motion», staged in 1968, which later became the theater's signature creation. The work was revived on the eve of the 60th season, enriching the theater's repertoire.

While preserving Bulat Ayukhanov's creative legacy, the theater will continue to expand its repertoire with new productions. The anniversary season features plans to stage new choreographic works, establish creative partnerships with domestic and foreign choreographers, organize tours, and participate in international projects.
