Verdi and Puccini Romances to be performed at the Astana Opera

The famous Kazakh soprano Aigul Niyazova has appeared before audiences many times in the roles of heroines from the operas of G. Verdi and G. Puccini. This evening, together with the theater's accompanist Irina Kurguzkina, the brilliant Aigul Niyazova will take to the stage with rarely performed chamber vocal compositions by these opera geniuses. The extensive program of the concert will also be decorated with instrumental works by composers performed by a string quartet consisting of: Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Bagdat Abilkhanov, Irina Dolgikh (violins), Olesya Morozova (viola), Kurvanzhan Akhatov (cello).

Giuseppe Verdi and Giacomo Puccini are two of the greatest Italian opera composers. Their work represents different eras and styles, but both masters have made a huge contribution to the development of the traditions of world opera music. The opera masterpieces they created are performed on the stages of theaters around the world and continue to win the hearts of listeners to this day. The concert "Greatness and Passion" is dedicated to the chamber works of Verdi and Puccini. The idea of the project is to introduce the listener to the chamber vocal and chamber instrumental heritage of two great classics, to demonstrate the versatility of their composing talent and musical language.

"Romances and songs by G. Verdi and G. Puccini are saturated with emotional depth and, despite the small form, the works feel the same power of dramatic expressiveness as in the arias from their operas. For example, in Verdi's romance "In solitaria stanza" ("In a Lonely Room") you can recognize Leonora's aria from the opera "Il Trovatore", and in the romance "Sole e amore" ("Sun and Love") we clearly hear the theme of the duet between Mimi and Rudolf from the opera "La Boheme." The concert will also feature the most famous works for string quartet: "Chrysanthemums" (Crisantemi) by G. Puccini and String Quartet in E minor by G. Verdi. Imbued with the richness of melodic colors, these compositions are a vivid manifestation of the composers' talent in creating a complex and deep polyphonic form," - shared the leading soloist of Astana Opera Aigul Niyazova.
