Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory has become a full member of the Xinjiang-Central Asian Art Education Research Center of China. The solemn event took place within the framework of the International Conference on Integration of Education, Production and Innovation, held in Urumqi (China).
Membership in the Center confirms the growing role of the Conservatory as an international partner in the field of art education. It opens up opportunities for joint projects - research, educational programs, cultural initiatives - and promotes stronger ties between educational and creative communities.
— The signing of a memorandum with Xinjiang University of Arts this fall was an important step, and today's event is a logical continuation of it, — noted Gaukhar Tasbergenova, Rector of the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory. — Joining the research center opens up new horizons for us: it is both the convergence of cultures and the expansion of academic cooperation. We are planning a number of joint initiatives — from educational programs to cultural projects, which, I am sure, will contribute to the promotion of Kazakh art in the global space.
The Kurmangazy Conservatory, founded in 1944, is the leading music university in Kazakhstan. It carefully preserves the traditions of the Kazakh composer school, represented by such outstanding names as Akhmet Zhubanov, Evgeny Brusilovsky, Mukan Tulebayev, Sydyk Mukhamedzhanov, Kuddus Kuzhamyarov, Gaziza Zhubanova, Yerkegali Rakhmadiyev.
For more than 80 years of its existence, the Conservatory has trained many highly qualified specialists who have made a significant contribution to the development of the country's musical art. Today, graduates of the university successfully work in musical groups, concert organizations and educational institutions of Kazakhstan, and also worthily represent domestic art abroad — in the USA, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Since 2020, the Kazakh National Conservatory has been a member of the European Association of Conservatories (AEC), which confirms its high status on the international academic arena. Today, the university is actively developing partnerships with 76 musical and cultural institutions from 33 countries, including Italy, Spain, Belgium, Latvia, China and others.
