Kazakhstan took part in the 35th Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, one of the world’s major literary and cultural gatherings.

This year, the fair brought together nearly 1,200 participants from 95 countries. The programme featured a range of cultural, literary and educational events, with this year’s edition held under the slogan “Read the World, Page by Page.”

The Kazakh pavilion presented works by national authors, contemporary Kazakh literature, publications for children and young people, books on the country’s national cultural heritage, as well as projects by Kazakh publishing houses.

As part of the fair, representatives of Kazakhstan held a number of meetings with foreign publishers, literary agencies and cultural organizations. The parties discussed translating Kazakh literature into foreign languages, promoting authors’ and publishing rights on international markets, and launching joint literary and cultural projects.

It is worth noting that Kazakhstan’s programme at the fair was organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in cooperation with the Embassy of Kazakhstan in the United Arab Emirates and the Nomad Culture Foundation.
