Qazaq Creative: 120,000 Kazakhstani students are actively participating in the national marathon "Reading Nation"

The Qazaq Creative Foundation for the Development of Creative Industries is participating in the national marathon "Kitap oqityn ult," which unites Kazakhstani students around literature and opens up new opportunities for developing a reading culture through modern creative formats.
Higher education institutions across the country have actively participated in the marathon. Universities are organizing reading clubs, holding literary meetings, thematic discussions, and intellectual events. Students and faculty discuss works by local and international authors, analyzing historical events, character designs, and the issues raised by writers.
University libraries have set up special book corners with works from the marathon's recommended reading list. These corners help participants navigate literature and choose books to read. Student communities also propose discussion topics and participate in event planning.
Today, 120,000 students from across Kazakhstan are participating in the marathon. Universities' participation allows for engaging with readers directly in the educational environment, leveraging the resources of libraries, faculty, and student associations.
One of the Foundation's practical activities is the "Author's Work" project. The Qazaq Creative Hub hosts meetings with writers and representatives of the literary community to discuss works of art and the creative legacy of Kazakhstani authors.
Specifically, the project included a meeting with writer and playwright Roza Mukanova dedicated to her work "Mangilik Bala Beine." Participants discussed the artistic imagery, historical context, and issues raised in the work.
On October 31, a discussion of the historical novel "Urker" by Abish Kekilbayuly is scheduled at the Qazaq Creative Hub. Representatives of the literary community, Baktybai Zhailau and Anuarbek Bimagambet, will participate in the meeting. The discussion will focus on historical events, national values, and the artistic merits of the work. Another area of Qazaq Creative's work is "Kitaptan kreativke" ("From Book to Creativity"). This initiative involves the creation of animated videos, illustrations, comics, and book trailers based on literary works, all while respecting copyright.
This format leverages the talents of designers, illustrators, animators, and digital content specialists to introduce literature to new audiences. In the future, these works may be further developed in visual, educational, and multimedia projects.
The foundation also plans to expand its work with regional creative centers, using their spaces for meetings with authors, reading clubs, and joint initiatives with educational institutions. This will allow literary events to be held outside of major cities and support local creative communities.
Particular attention will be paid to the continuation of the reading clubs after the marathon's completion, ensuring that the spaces created by universities maintain a regular schedule. Qazaq Creative's participation in the marathon aims to strengthen the connection between literature, education, and the creative industries, as well as to develop projects that will enable the works of Kazakhstani authors to find new readers.
