In Astana, a young piano virtuoso Alexander Kutuzov will perform.

The soloist of the evening is the famous pianist, laureate of prestigious international competitions Alexander Kutuzov.

The evening will open with the Taishik-khan dance from Arman Zhaiym's ballet "Alpamys". The energetic rhythms and subtle melody of this work seem to revive the eternal struggle between good and evil. This theme will be replaced by deep philosophical reflections reflected in Johannes Brahms' Symphony No. 4 in E minor. The composition combines the traditions of classical form with the emotional richness of romanticism.

In the next piece, Alexander Kutuzov will join the orchestra, a laureate of many international competitions, known for his ability to penetrate the depths of the musical text and reveal hidden meanings. He will perform Sergei Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 4 in G minor – one of the composer's most underrated works.

“In Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 4, one can feel the composer’s internal conflict, his search for new forms and sounds. Performing this concerto is a real pleasure, because it requires virtuoso technique, as well as a subtle understanding of S. Rachmaninoff’s intention. Especially interesting is its rhythmic complexity and unexpected changes of mood, which keep the performer in constant tension. I have always been struck in this concerto by the culmination of the first part with its enormous scale and ever-increasing power. Also, it is impossible to ignore the harmonic uniqueness and richness in the second and third parts, combined with truly complex work between the soloist, conductor and orchestra,” - Alexander Kutuzov noted.

Written in 1926, the concerto became an attempt by S. Rachmaninoff to find a new style, to preserve his legacy in the context of the Western musical tradition. The work stands out for its structural complexity and innovative rhythmic solutions.

“For me, this is not my first performance at Astana Opera, but every time I go on stage at this theater is special. You have a wonderful orchestra, great acoustics, and the audience here is attentive and sensitive. Therefore, I want to wish the listeners that they always remain open to art,” - concluded the pianist.
