A solo exhibition by Nurzhan Sautbekov, "Touching," has opened in the capital.

Nurzhan Sautbekov masterfully combines realism and abstraction in his work, creating works that appeal to both connoisseurs of classical art and lovers of modern experiments. His canvases possess a strong visual energy, where traditional historical subjects are enriched by the dynamics of modern forms and techniques.

"In abstract works, I try to convey my feelings, enjoyment, the search for forms and colors. The very process of creating paintings gives me great pleasure. In works of symbolic realism, my philosophical reflections on the place of man in the world are expressed. The name of the exhibition is related to one of my works - "Contact". It depicts two large forms that, when in contact, create bright vibrations. Everything happens in this world through contact. Any feelings, emotions, electrical reactions, energy exchange - it's all contact," said artist Nurzhan Sautbekov.

An important place in the artist's work is occupied by historical subjects. Sautbekov does not just depict the events of the past - he interprets them through the prism of modernity, asking questions about how these events can be reflected in our world today. His paintings, dedicated to great generals, battles or cultural achievements, not only reconstruct the past, but also present it in a new light, as part of the global cultural heritage.

"I also presented the work "Kokpar" here. This topic has worried me since my student years. My teacher is Kanafiya Telzhanov. His most famous painting is "Kokpar". I developed this topic in my student days, but then it was somehow postponed. And now I can show my vision of this game. I wanted to show not just sport, but the passion of young players, psychology, dynamics," said Nurzhan Sautbekov.

The main feature of Sautbekov's works is the combination of, at first glance, opposite styles and elements. His realistic images, whether historical figures or scenes from the past, are surrounded by abstract compositions that often play on cultural or philosophical symbols. This synthesis creates an amazing space in which reality collides with the imaginary, and tradition combines with innovation.

"I first saw Nurzhan Sautbekov's works in the Kasteev Museum. It was a painting called "Willpower". Now it hangs at the entrance to the exhibition here. It depicts a tied bull. And from the energy of this work, we see that he will definitely be freed, because willpower plays a huge role," said Zhanna Ensebayeva, HAS SANAT Art Gallery.

Abstract elements on Sautbekov's canvases are often presented in the form of unexpected geometric compositions or bizarre lines that contrast with realistic images. This contrast creates a dynamic that attracts the viewer's attention and makes him linger to understand the multi-layered nature of the work.
