The exhibition will feature over 50 works by renowned Kazakh artists Nasyra Rustemova, Aranshi Sharzhanova, Sultan Ilyayev, Abduahata Muratbay, and Mukhtar Bekenov. Through the postmodernist movement, they have brought traditional Kazakh decorative and applied arts closer to their works. To affirm the cultural ethno-mentality, the plots of some works feature fragments of mythological images, uniting national ideas, traditions, and modern approaches.
N. Rustemov's graphics "Moonlit," "Twins," "Night," "Family," and others are rendered in contrasting black and white. The author "plays" with chiaroscuro reflexes, emphasizing the silhouette, trying to describe the depth of the inner world of man. In creating some works, the artist seeks a harmonious relationship between traditional and new forms of avant-garde movements. Small strokes on a black background, with curved lines, form the roundness of faces and narrative scenes. It is worth noting that the artist-sculptor has professionally created monuments in major cities of the country, which are distinguished by deep content and influence the formation of people's taste.
The play of colors of A. Sharzhanov in the compositions "Autumn," "At the Spring," "Girlfriends," etc., is unique. His creations are inhabited by measured characters, devoid of fuss and worries, which is reflected in the color scheme of the works. This is combined with a scientific and ethnographic approach, nostalgic reflection on the way of life of the people, once free from modern trends of civilization. Epic panoramas, characteristic of Southern Kazakhstan, have appeared in the landscapes of the artist's brush. He subtly feels the atmosphere of the mountains, snow drifts, morning dawn, rationally using color shades. Thanks to his inner culture, the artist can avoid the often-encountered copies and the temptation of "souvenirs" today.
In the works of S. Ilyayev "Birth of the Day," "White Mountain," "Wave," "House of Ancestors," etc., elements of Kazakh decorative and applied art, family members, and the animal world are the main elements. He introduces time into space, which is the beginning of eternity, and looks into the spiritual world. The author concentrates their meanings and puts forward new ideas, improving the symbols that describe some codes. The artist is especially concerned about the problem of "moral values," expressed in the form of artistic synthesis. The forms of compositions, consisting of symbols and signs, are written in decorative sonorous colors and alternate with the corresponding plastic forms. Thus, the master was able to create his own style, a unique author's signature.
