An evening titled "Zhambyl – Poet of the Century" was held at the Cultural Center of Kazakhstan in Beijing to mark the 180th anniversary of the birth of the great Kazakh poet Zhambyl Zhabayev.

The event was attended by Kanat Esbolatov, First Deputy Akim of the Almaty Region; Saltanat Zhambylova, the poet's granddaughter and Director of the Zhambyl Zhabayev Literary-Memorial Museum; Akbar Majit, a Chinese writer and translator; diplomats from the Embassy of Kazakhstan in China; as well as representatives of creative, scientific, and business circles of the PRC.

As part of the evening, a thematic exhibition dedicated to the life and work of Zhambyl Zhabayev was organized. The exhibition featured the poet's books, photographs, works of fine and applied arts, and ethnographic artifacts.

The festive evening continued with a concert titled "Zhambyl – Poet of the Century," featuring performances by artists from the Suyinbai Almaty Regional Philharmonic.
