International experts trained restorers in Kazakhstan

Training sessions were held at the National Library of Kazakhstan as part of an international project to preserve the manuscript heritage of libraries in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The project aims to enhance the professional skills of specialists in the field of conservation and restoration of Central Asian written heritage.

The sessions were conducted by international experts from Greece and Turkey. 30 restorers from various regions of Kazakhstan took part in the training. Over five days, they studied international methods for conserving ancient manuscripts, researching historical bindings, and restoring written monuments.

This initiative contributes to the preservation of valuable manuscripts, the development of professional competencies of restorers, and the strengthening of international scientific cooperation.
