On January 13, 2026, the Mukhtar Auezov Kazakh National Drama Theater celebrated its 100th anniversary. To mark this date, the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted an international research conference "100 years of the First National Theater: traditions, innovations and artistic transformation".

The conference was attended by leading scientists and art figures from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan, including doctors of art history, professors and university teachers.

Participants discussed the history of the theater, its spiritual foundations, stages of development and the role of the national idea in Kazakh drama. Special attention was paid to the continuity of traditions and innovation in directing, acting and modern artistic solutions.

In addition, as part of the event, the theater museum presented the exhibition "The National Theater, Which Has Passed a Century-Long Path". The exhibition features photos and videos, archival documents reflecting the 100-year history of the theater.
