The National Central Museum presented Kazakh handicraft traditions for the Day of "Shanyrak"

The National Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted a cultural and educational event, "The Art of Kazakhs," as part of the Nauryznama decade, dedicated to Kazakh National Day. It was organized by the Museum Pedagogy Department.
During the program, schoolchildren visited the "Kazakh People's Heritage" exhibition, which featured items reflecting the centuries-old history and worldview of the Kazakh people. Participants learned about decorative and applied art objects such as alasha, tekemet, syrmak, tuskiiz, wall hangings, baskur, kesekap, kalta, and bogjama. Particular attention was paid to traditional ornaments, including the "koshqar muyіz" pattern, as well as zoomorphic, geometric, and floral motifs, widely represented in Kazakh arts and crafts.
In the ethnographic hall, participants were able to observe the process of making traditional items and meet with folk artisans. The event included master classes on syrmak making, baskur weaving, felting, patchwork quilt making, and yurt assembly.
