The Head of State received the Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balayeva. The President was informed about the main cultural achievements of the year, the measures implemented by the ministry in 2024, as well as the department's plans for the next year.
Aida Balayeva said that for the first time domestic art was presented at world-famous art venues: the Venice Biennale, the Guimet Museum of Asian Arts. Kazakhstan's publishing products were demonstrated at the world's largest Frankfurt Book Fair.
"An important project in terms of promoting the history, culture and traditions of the country was the launch of the Qazaq сulture information and education platform in eight languages. Also, the opening and closing ceremonies of the V World Nomad Games in Astana became a bright cultural event. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was informed about the work of the ministry in the field of lawmaking. In 2024, Kazakhstan adopted a new law on mass media aimed at improving the status of journalists. The Parliament is considering amendments to the legislation aimed at ensuring direct funding of the Kazakhfilm film studio", - Akorda reports.
In addition, the President was informed about support for the development of the volunteer movement. According to the Minister, compared to 2022, the number of active volunteers has increased to 240 thousand people. More than 50 volunteer projects are implemented annually, 7 Kazakh volunteers have been sent to UN structures.
This year, a package of measures to support creative industries was also developed, which includes the creation of a Creative Industries Fund, the expansion of the competencies of central and local executive bodies. A special tax regime has been introduced for creative industry entities. Since the beginning of the year, 10 creative centers and hubs have been opened in the country.
The President instructed to take special control over the preparation for such anniversary dates and landmark events of the next year as the 30th anniversary of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
