In Aktau, as part of the "Korkyt Ata" International Film Festival of the Turkic World, the State Center for National Cinema Support of the Republic of Kazakhstan signed memorandums of cooperation with state film organizations in Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan.
The agreements are part of a larger effort to develop cooperation within the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) and are aimed at strengthening the cultural unity of Turkic countries through cinematography that reflects shared values and historical heritage.
The memorandum with the Cinema Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan covers a wide range of areas: joint production of feature, documentary, and animated films, master classes and seminars, and the development of cooperation in translation and dubbing. Priority topics include friendship between peoples, interaction, and the preservation of cultural ties.
The agreement with the Department of Cinematography under the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic provides for support for projects aimed at strengthening humanitarian and cultural ties. To strengthen these ties, the creation of conditions for joint film production, including technological collaboration and the exchange of specialists, is envisaged.
The memorandum with the Oguz Khan Turkmenfilm Association of the State Committee of Turkmenistan envisages the development of co-productions and creative exchanges, focusing on the cultural ties between Aktau and Ashgabat and the popularization of the musical heritage of the Turkic peoples.
The agreement with the General Directorate of Cinematography of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey envisages the launch of joint film projects aimed at developing cultural dialogue and mutual understanding between the countries. Cooperation in cinematography encompasses support for co-productions, the exchange of creative experience, the strengthening of humanitarian ties, and the promotion of film tourism.
The agreement signed with the Cinematography Agency under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan covers the development of joint projects aimed at strengthening ties between peoples and preserving cultural heritage. Particular attention will be paid to topics related to Turkestan, Samarkand, and the era of Amir Temur. Among the first initiatives in this direction is the planned release of the feature film "High as the Pamir Mountains," dedicated to the relationship between the outstanding Kazakh writer Mukhtar Auezov and the founder of Uzbek novels, Abdulla Kadiri. Through the lives of the two writers, the film will celebrate the friendship and brotherhood of the Uzbek and Kazakh peoples.
Previously, at the Cannes Film Festival, the Cinema Center signed a memorandum of cooperation with the national film centers of France and Georgia. The documentary "The Tale of the Sea Dogs," being produced in collaboration with Thailand, is also in production. The feature film "Winners Are Visible at the Start," an international co-production with France, the Netherlands, Lithuania, and Sweden, has been presented at leading international festivals.
