The ballet troupe of the Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Abay will perform in Singapore for the first time. The tour performances will take place from January 23 to 25, 2026 at the NUS University Cultural Centre.

The theatre will present a two-part program: "Masterpieces of Classical Ballet" (excerpts from "Swan Lake" - adagio, "Les Sylphides" and "Don Quixote") and the one-act ballet "Carmen Suite" staged by Alberto Alonso to music by Rodion Shchedrin based on Georges Bizet. "Carmen Suite" reveals themes of passion, freedom and fate and is considered one of the most iconic works of world choreography.
