The final meeting of the competition committee for the "Tauelsizdik Urpaqtary" grant was held in Astana.
Welcoming the committee members, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aida Balayeva noted that supporting youth is a strategic priority of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's state policy. One of the Head of State's important initiatives is the "Tauelsizdik Urpaqtary" grant, aimed at supporting talented young Kazakhstanis, developing their potential, and creating conditions for the implementation of socially significant and innovative projects.
"Every year, we see an increase in the number of applications for each competition category. This is not only an indicator of high youth engagement but also a testament to trust in government support and confidence in the fairness of decision-making. Let each selected project be our pride and bring tangible benefits to Kazakhstani society," the Deputy Prime Minister noted. The selection committee included prominent scientists, cultural figures, media managers, and representatives of government and business. Aida Balayeva thanked the committee for their work and expressed confidence that they had made a fair decision.
Following the meeting, 30 winners were selected in six categories, whose projects received the highest scores in the competitive selection process.
Each grant recipient will receive state support in the amount of 3 million tenge to implement their project.
In 2026, the competition received over 2,200 applications, of which 1,745 were accepted for consideration, including 663 in the "Business" category, 383 in "Information Technology," 218 in "Science," 174 in "Culture," 158 in "Media," and 149 in "Volunteering." Over the entire grant period, 153 young Kazakhstanis have received grants: 30 in 2021, 33 in 2022, and 30 each in 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026.
The awards ceremony for the 2026 "Tauelsizdik Urpaqtary" winners will be held in Astana as part of the International Youth Day celebrations.
