A corner of Azerbaijani literature has appeared in the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The opening ceremony took place within the framework of the Days of Azerbaijani Culture in Astana. Kazakh readers will now be able to get acquainted with more than 250 publications of classical and modern Azerbaijani literature. Among them are also books dedicated to the history of the formation of statehood, customs and traditions of the Azerbaijani people, as well as the works of Muhammad Fizuli, Mirza Fatali Akhundov, Huseyn Javid, Anar and many others.

"I think that the opening of this corner demonstrates our strong ties. We should promote the literature of our republics more. We brought 256 books, they will remain in the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In the future we will replenish the corner. In 2019, we, in the National Library of Azerbaijan, opened a corner of Kazakh literature. And to this day, this corner is replenished every month. The Embassy of Kazakhstan holds events there with the participation of Kazakh writers," said Kerim Tahirov, Director General of the National Library of Azerbaijan.

The National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan signed a memorandum with the National Library of Azerbaijan on further prospective development in library and information activities. The initiative will expand the possibilities of international book exchange to familiarize with new literature of both countries. There was also a presentation of Elmira Akhundova's book "Zarifa and Heydar Aliyev. Eternal Love", dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people.

"This book tells about love, about the family path of outstanding personalities of Azerbaijan. I think that this book is about high human feelings, about what kind of children these people raised. One of them, as you know, became the President of Azerbaijan. In the book you can find information about the difficult trials in the way of Zarifa and Heydar Aliyev. Their path was not always strewn with stars. There were falls, there were failures, and deep sadness. Zarifa Khanum passed away at the age of 62, Heydar Aliyev remained faithful to her until the end of his life. They are buried next to each other on the Alley of Honorable Burial and there their souls are united forever," said the author of the book Elmira Akhundova.

In the richly illustrated book, the author traces the entire life path of her heroes – from childhood and youth to adulthood. The publication is available in Kazakh in the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
