
The XIV International BABEL Theatre Festival took place in the Romanian city of Târgoviște, bringing together over 50 theatre groups from the USA, Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, China, the Republic of Korea, and other countries.
Kazakhstan was represented at the festival by the Shymkent Youth Theatre. The creative collective presented the play 'Antigone' based on the work of French playwright Jean Anouilh.
The production received high praise from the international audience, theatre professionals, and festival organizers. Spectators warmly welcomed the performance of the Kazakhstani artists, noting the expressiveness of the staging and the professional level of execution.
The participation of Kazakhstani theatres in international festivals contributes to the promotion of national art abroad and the strengthening of cultural ties. This work is carried out within the framework of the policy of Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, aimed at supporting culture and expanding the presence of Kazakhstani creative collectives on the world stage.
