The LM Kulanshi Art Gallery in Astana is hosting the exhibition "Marc Chagall. Creation of Light." Visitors are presented with authentic graphic works by one of the greatest artists of the 20th century.
The exhibition introduces viewers to Marc Chagall's figurative world, which blends personal memories, biblical motifs, fantasy, and symbolic themes. A central feature is a graphic cycle the artist began creating in the 1930s. In these works, ancient texts are given a new visual interpretation through color, line, and the master's recognizable poetics.
A separate section of the exhibition is dedicated to the "Windows of Jerusalem" cycle. It includes 24 works related to the monumental stained-glass windows Chagall created for the Jerusalem synagogue. Rich colors, symbolic figures, and spiritual imagery became an important part of the artist's late work.
The exhibition allows visitors to see how Chagall transformed religious and cultural themes into a universal artistic language. His graphics are not limited to illustrating text; they become an independent space of light, memory, and inner experience.
