Fire, water, earth, and air became the language of fashion, in which designers from around the world told their stories. Astana hosted the first international fashion week, World Designers Fashion Week Astana 2026, bringing together fashion industry representatives from 40 countries.
The Palace of Peace and Reconciliation was temporarily transformed into a space for creative experimentation. The show concept was built around the four elements of nature, each of which inspired the designers to create their own artistic solutions.
Designers from France, Italy, China, the UK, the Netherlands, Romania, Hungary, Malaysia, Mexico, and other countries presented their collections on the catwalk. British designer Emily Su surprised the audience with unusual headdresses inspired by the element of water. Azerbaijani designer Yeghana Sadykova offered a bright, fiery interpretation of traditional women's clothing.
However, the fashion week didn't stop at the catwalk. Georgian expert Natia Tsertsvadze held a master class on leather processing for Kazakhstani designers and artisans, introducing participants to her signature techniques for working with the material.
The event was particularly significant due to the participation of the heads of 12 international fashion platforms. For Kazakhstani designers, this was an opportunity to establish professional contacts and discover new avenues for promoting their collections in international markets.
World Designers Fashion Week was organized by the Qazaq Creative Industries Fund and the World Association of Designers, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan.
