«Ұлы дала мұрасы»: 80th anniversary of the Faculty of Folk Music

The Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory celebrated the 80th anniversary of its Faculty of Folk Music, one of the key centers for training performers and researchers of traditional Kazakh art.
The anniversary began with the 2nd International Scientific and Practical Conference "Traditional Musical Culture: Past and Present." Scholars and educators from Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, and Bashkortostan participated. Experts discussed current issues related to the development of traditional heritage, the continuity of performance schools, and the integration of folk music into modern education.
The event featured the presentation of a series of new educational and scientific publications by Conservatory faculty, reflecting modern approaches to the study and teaching of folk instruments.
The event culminated in the celebratory program "Uly Dala Murasy," held in the Y. Rakhmadiev Great Hall. Folk instrument ensembles, young vocalists, and a student orchestra performed on stage. The participation of Murat Dzhanizakov, a guest from Bashkortostan, added an international touch to the concert.
The anniversary was accompanied by congratulatory addresses from the Ministry of Culture and Information, the Almaty Department of Culture, and a number of creative and educational institutions. During the ceremony, Professor Saule Zhanpeisova was presented with the "Parasat" Order.
