A gala concert of the Royal Danish Theatre – one of the oldest and most respected theatres in the world – took place in Astana. A program of 10 numbers, combining classical heritage and contemporary choreography, was presented to the capital's audience on the Astana Ballet stage.
A special place in the program was given to numbers revealing the aesthetics of the Bournonville school. The lightness, virtuosity, and stage culture of Danish ballet were seen by the audience in the productions "Jockey Dance" and "Kermesse in Bruges". These numbers became some of the key accents of the evening and allowed to fully feel the uniqueness of the artistic tradition with which the Royal Danish Theatre is inextricably linked.
The special expressiveness of the gala concert was enhanced by the participation of the special guest of the evening – Selene Muñoz, one of the brightest representatives of modern flamenco in Europe. Her performance added emotional energy and stage dynamics to the program and became an important artistic accent of the evening.
