June 4 - Day of State Symbols of Kazakhstan

June 4 - Day of State Symbols of Kazakhstan

State symbols are one of the unshakable foundations of the state. They presented to the world the image of a new independent country called the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The State Flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan is a rectangular blue cloth with an image of the sun with 32 rays in its center, under which you can see a soaring steppe eagle. At the flagpole - a vertical strip with a national ornament. The images of the sun, rays, eagle and ornament appear in gold. The ratio of the width of the flag to its length: 1:2. The author of the flag is an Honored Artist of Kazakhstan, artist Niyazbekov Shaken Onlasynovich, who won the right of authorship in a difficult struggle.

In the traditions of heraldry, each color symbolizes a certain concept. Thus, sky blue symbolizes honesty, loyalty and perfection. In addition, sky blue has a deep symbolic meaning in Turkic culture. The ancient Turks always revered the sky as their father god, and their sky-blue banner symbolized devotion to the father-progenitor. The sun symbolizes wealth and abundance, life and energy.

The golden eagle soaring under the sun embodies the strength of the state, its sovereignty and independence, the pursuit of high goals and a sustainable future. A special place is occupied by the image of the golden eagle in the worldview of Eurasian nomads. They associate it with such concepts as freedom and fidelity, a sense of dignity and courage, power and purity of thoughts.

The Kazakh ornament is a harmony of various shapes and lines, it is an expressive means of revealing the inner world of the people. The national ornament along the flagpole symbolizes the culture and traditions of the people of Kazakhstan.

The State Emblem is one of the main symbols of the state. History testifies that even the nomads of the Bronze Age, who lived on the territory of modern Kazakhstan, identified themselves with a special symbol - a totem, the graphic expression of which was later called "tamga". For the first time, this term began to be used in the Turkic Khaganate.

The emblem of sovereign Kazakhstan was officially adopted in 1992. Its authors are famous architects Zhandarbek Malibekov and Shot-Aman Ualikhanov. The emblem has the shape of a circle (wheel) - this is a symbol of life and eternity, which was especially revered among the nomads of the Great Steppe. The central heraldic element in the state emblem is the image of a shanyrak (the upper arched part of the yurt) on a blue background, from which uyks (supports) diverge in all directions in the form of sun rays. To the right and left of the shanyrak are images of mythical winged horses. In the upper part there is a three-dimensional five-pointed star, and in the lower part there is the inscription "Qazaqstan". The image of the star, shanyrak, uyks, mythical horses, as well as the inscription "Qazaqstan" - are made in the color of gold. Shanyrak is the main system-forming part of the yurt, resembling a celestial dome in shape and being one of the key elements of life in the traditional culture of Eurasian nomads. The image of shanyrak is a symbol of a common home and a single Motherland for all peoples living in the country. The stable development of Kazakhstan depends on the well-being of each citizen, as the strength and stability of the shanyrak depends on the reliability of all its supports. Winged mythical horses - tulpars in the state emblem are a key heraldic element. The image of a horse from time immemorial embodies such concepts as courage, fidelity and strength. The wings symbolize the centuries-old dream of the multinational people of Kazakhstan to build a strong and prosperous state. They testify to pure intentions and the desire for consistent improvement and creative development. The golden wings of the horses also resemble golden ears and embody the hard work of Kazakhstanis and the material well-being of the country.

Another detail is the five-pointed star. This symbol has been used by mankind since ancient times and embodies the constant desire of people for the light of truth, for everything sublime and eternal. The image of the star reflects the desire of Kazakhstanis to create a country open for cooperation and partnership with all the peoples of the world. The main color used in the state emblem is the color of gold, which serves as a symbol of wealth, justice and generosity. There is also the color of the flag - sky blue, which harmonizes with the color of gold and symbolizes a clear sky, peace and prosperity.

The Anthem of Kazakhstan

In the history of independent Kazakhstan, the country's Anthem was approved twice - in 1992 and 2006. At the beginning of 1992, a competition was announced for the music and lyrics of the new anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan. About 750 projects were sent to the selection committee. During the discussion, the public expressed the opinion that it was necessary to preserve the music of the anthem of the Kazakh SSR. Thus, the authors of the music of the first Kazakh anthem were Mukan Tulebayev, Yevgeny Brusilovsky and Latif Khamidi. In the competition for the best text, the author's team, represented by famous poets, also won: Muzafar Alimbayev, Kadyr Myrzaliyev, Tumanbay Moldagaliyev and poetess Zhadyra Daribayeva.

In 2006, a new State Anthem was adopted. It was based on the popular patriotic song "Menin Kazakhstanym". It was written in 1956 by Shamshi Kaldayakov to the poems of Zhumeken Nazhimedenov.
