
A solemn Gala concert dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Zhambyl Kazakh State Academic Philharmonic took place at the Palace of the Republic.
The congratulatory letter from the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, was read by the Deputy Akim of Almaty, Abzal Nukenov.
“I congratulate you on the 90th anniversary of the Zhambyl Kazakh State Academic Philharmonic! This is a significant milestone in the history of national musical art. The Philharmonic, founded by the outstanding Akhmet Zhubanov, has made a huge contribution to the revival of the spiritual heritage of our people, the expansion of the horizons of our culture and the popularization of Kazakh music throughout the world. Many outstanding figures who left an immeasurable mark on the spiritual life of the nation performed on this sacred stage,” the Head of State’s congratulatory address reads.
The Gala concert brought together performances by all the leading creative teams of the Philharmonic, presenting a vibrant palette of national musical tradition and modern academic forms. The program included works by Nurgisa Tlendiev, Mukan Tulebaev, Yerkegali Rakhmadiyev, Tles Kazhgaliyev, Adil Bestibaev, as well as compositions by world classics – Ludwig van Beethoven, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Antonio Vivaldi and Pablo Sarasate.
The 90-year history of the Zhambyl Kazakh State Academic Philharmonic is a significant stage in the chronicle of Kazakh music. The anniversary concert emphasized the greatness of national art and gave the audience a truly unforgettable experience.
As part of the concert, a thematic exhibition was presented to veterans of the Philharmonic, specially invited guests, artists and spectators. It reflected the key stages in the formation of the Philharmonic, as well as the life and career of Nurgisa Tlendiev.
