Scientific and restoration works are continuing at the Zharkent Mosque, located in the Zhetisu region, aimed at preserving the historical appearance and unique architectural features of the monument.

To date, specialists from RSE "Kazrestoration" have completed a complex of works on restoring the roof covering. The cleaning of the tower, aivan, entrance portal, and side gates from complex contaminations is ongoing.

The next stage involves the restoration of 52 external wooden columns, facades, brickwork, and the preserved decorative painting. Special treatment of the dome and wooden surfaces will also be carried out, and railings will be restored.

Special attention is paid to the preservation of the architectural structures, wooden elements, and artistic decoration of the mosque. Along with the restoration of the monument, landscaping of the adjacent territory is being carried out.

Simultaneously, work is underway to implement the instruction of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to include the Zharkent Mosque in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
