The Roza Baglanova State Academic Concert Organization "Kazakh Concert" held a literary and musical evening, "Kazakhym-ai," dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the outstanding poet Mukagali Makatayev.
The event program combined poetry and live musical performance, offering an unforgettable experience. The evening featured classic songs set to the poet's words, including "Aytatyn saggan syrym bul," "Ayagöz aru," "Zhapyrak zhürek zhas kayyã," "SÙbi bolÓym keleði," "Men dep oyla," "Esïãe menÖ alÓaysyã," "Tuñan ölke," "Otan," "Sarzhaylau," and others.
Honored cultural figures, winners of national and international awards, and leading creative groups performed on stage: the Astana Musical State Theater, the Astana Sazy Kazakh State Folklore Ensemble, the SAZ&SOUL group, and the Gulder Ballet Ensemble.
The poet's son, Zhuldyz Makatayev, and his wife, Bakytkul Makatayeva, were guests of honor at the evening. The event served as a vibrant tribute to the great poet and highlighted the importance of his work for the preservation and popularization of Kazakh literature and musical culture.
