A memorial evening titled “A Bright Star of the Era” was held at the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Yermek Serkebayev, People’s Artist of Kazakhstan, opera singer, actor, and educator.

The event was attended by figures from the cultural and artistic community, the artist’s relatives and students, as well as teachers and students.

Participants recalled Yermek Serkebayev’s life and creative journey, his contribution to the development of Kazakh opera and musical art, as well as his work as an educator. The artist’s contemporaries and students shared their memories of the master and spoke about his creative legacy.

The National Library also prepared a book exhibition. The display featured publications and archival materials highlighting his career on stage, artistic achievements, and public activities.
