Stars from 9 countries will come together in Astana at the Operalia-2024 festival

M. Tulebaev's opera "Birzhan - Sara"

- We are proud to host Operalia on our theater's stage for the second year. It is known that this wonderful festival is more than two decades old. Every year it raises the prestige of our theatrical art and enriches the cultural life of the country. There is no doubt that Operalia-2024 will feature world-class performances. Thus, at the opening, Italian singers will share their art with residents and guests of the capital, along with Kazakhstani artists: soprano Desiree Rancatore, baritone Alberto Gazale, tenor Giulio Pelligra, conductor and author of the program Giuseppe Acquaviva, - said Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, Director of Astana Opera Galym Akhmedyarov.

At the opening ceremony of the festival, a theatrical show will take place in the foyer with the performance of opera numbers, a demonstration of costumes and an exhibition of props from the performances included in the Operalia program.

The festival will present the best examples of opera and ballet art. Among them are bright operas, each of which deserves special attention: "Birzhan - Sara" by M. Tulebaev - a classic work by a Kazakh composer, which will open the doors to the rich world of national opera. The famous opera "Turandot" by G. Puccini will be shown with the participation of invited soloists: Georgian tenor Georgy Oniani, Ukrainian soprano Oksana Kramareva, Czech soprano Libuse Santorisova will take the stage on different days of the performances.

"L'elisir d'amore" by G. Donizetti - the performance of this comic opera will add lightness and romantic mood to the festival. "Eugene Onegin" by P. Tchaikovsky will also be held with invited soloists - Eleonora Makarova and Evgeny Kachurovsky from Russia, as well as Shohrukh Yunusov from Tajikistan. The skill of the singers will allow listeners to rediscover the masterpiece of world opera.

Ballet lovers are waiting for exclusive productions. Thus, to the 100th anniversary of the choreographer Roland Petit, two of his famous ballets will be shown: "Notre Dame de Paris" by M. Jarre - this production will tell the tragic love story of Quasimodo for Esmeralda. And "Coppélia" by L. Delibes - a light and joyful ballet about a doll that came to life.

No less interesting will be the concert programs planned both in the Grand Hall and in the Chamber Hall named after K. Baiseitova. Among them: a concert of national music "Darkhan Dala" - an opportunity to immerse yourself in the traditions and culture of Kazakhstan. For the first time on the stage of Astana Opera, the Academic Orchestra named after Tattimbet will perform with a full concert program with the choir and opera soloists of the capital's theater. "Gala-Opera" with the participation of Italian stars and "Gala-Ballet", which invited soloists from Russia and China: Elena Vorobyova and Alexey Seliverstov, as well as Zhang Haidong, Zhang Yuyi and Sun Huixin. Seven concerts will be held in the Chamber Hall, many of which will be decorated with performances by foreign artists - Iñaki Alberdi (accordion, Spain), Ketevan Abiatari (soprano, Italy / Georgia), Elizaveta Alexandrova (harp, St. Petersburg). Separately, I would like to note the concert of Meruert Karmenova (Belgium / Kazakhstan), laureate of the prestigious XVI International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition and concerts of the laureates of the international competition Astana Piano Passion Alexander Kutuzov and Bekzat Rakymov (Almaty / Moscow).

At the conductor's stand on different days you can see - Alan Buribayev, Abzal Mukhitdin, Giuseppe Acquaviva, Yerlan Baktygerey, Ruslan Baimurzin and Elmar Buribayev.

The grandiose finale promises to be a unique premiere that emphasizes the artistic diversity of the festival - a concert performance of the opera "The Freeshooter" by K.M. von Weber. Thus, Astana Opera once again confirms its status as a leading theater capable of inspiring and surprising the audience with its art.
