
The 4th Bishkek International Film Festival took place in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, bringing together directors, actors, and producers from around the world.
The festival also included a Central Asian competition, featuring films from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan. The Kazakh film "Qaitadan" won the Grand Prix for Best Film.
"Qaitadan" has already become one of the most successful Kazakh films in recent years. Last year, it grossed over 1 billion tenge in just three weeks of release and topped the domestic box office.
The film also previously won the STEPPE AWARDS, Kazakhstan's premier creative industry award, in the Cinematography category.
As a reminder, the project won the 2023 pitching round and was implemented with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
